The Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS) is a comprehensive travel survey conducted in the Greater Golden Horseshoe Area once every five years. The TTS is a joint undertaking by the agencies represented on the Transportation Information Steering Committee (TISC), including the Cities of Toronto and Hamilton, the Regional Municipalities of Durham, Halton, Peel and York, GO Transit, the Toronto Transit Commission and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. R.A. Malatest & Associates conducted the 2016 survey, in cooperation with the University of Toronto’s Data Management Group, on behalf of the funding partners.
The Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS) is used to:
- inform where randomly selected residents of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) area of Ontario use transportation daily
- help governments and transit agencies plan for future transportation needs
All data collected from the survey is consolidated and released to the public though Transportation Tomorrow Survey reports.
