What is Export Development Canada (EDC)?

The EDC’s  job is to support and develop Canada’s export trade by helping Canadian companies respond to international business opportunities. EDC is a self-financing, Crown corporation that operates at arm’s length from the Government.

What services does EDC offer?

EDC offers a wide range of products including;  provide insurance and financial services, bonding products and small business solutions to Canadian exporters and investors and their international buyers. They also support Canadian direct investment abroad and investment into Canada. Much of EDC’s business is done in partnership with other financial institutions and through collaboration with the Government of Canada.

Let's Talk Exports

BEDC is proud to partner with EDC annually on the ‘Let’s Talk Exports’ breakfast, April 26, 2016th marked the 10th annual event. Chief Economist Peter Hall attended the event and gave latest insights into the global economy and the impact it will have on Canadian businesses. The morning was filled with insights into Canada’s 2016/2017 economic forecast including; export outlook for various industry sectors, upcoming opportunities in Ontario’s economy and key insights into the unique opportunities and risks that will be surfacing.
